Getting around

Lugano has a highly developed road and rail transport network.

In fact, buses are organised so as to connect the suburbs and the city centre through TPL SA services.

The municipalities around Lugano are connected through the Postal Bus service and the ARL SA service (only for Lamone and Tesserete).

Trains connect Lugano to the rest of Ticino through the TILO network and there is also a line linking Lugano to Ponte Tresa.

Lugano also has an airport with daily connections to Zurich and Geneva from where you can take connecting flights to reach other European destinations.

The city also has private and public taxi services.

Lastly, it is also possible to use the public boat service to get around the lake especially for visiting tourist sites.
